    Cr: androidjet.com
It seems that not only consumers fancy Android but also gaming industries. This is indeed great news, don’t you think? Well, of course, because this being the fact, more games might come your way. More games means more forms of enjoyment!
I’m sure you are curious what companies do favour Android over Apple. Let me list them one by one:
    1. GameStop
    • The creator of the famous streaming game “Medal of Honor” won’t just stay on PC because the company seems to have plans in creating a streaming game service and bringing the same to Android.
    2. NVIDIA
    • Bringing games to life, NVIDIA’s creation, the Tegra 2 processor, has set the Android gaming performance standard for all smartphones and tablets. This processor has enabled HD gaming for Android devices and this has been adopted by almost all major wireless carriers based in United States. Additionally, there exists the NVIDIA Tegra Zone app which is compatible with certain Android smartphones and tablets but not with iPhones. This app allows users to browse for HD games that can work on their devices’ specs.
    3. OnLive
    • The company that Gamestop wishes to compete, OnLive won’t just be concentrating on creating streaming games but also developing a tablet as it partners with HTC in manufacturing its upcoming Flyer tablet. A feature of this device that has been revealed is its capacity to play PC- and console-quality games via a BlueTooth controller.
    4. Sony
    • PlayStations will be much more portable as the device you are to use in playing PlayStation Games will be something that you often use for such other purposes. Yes, your guess is right! PlayStation games on mobile will now be available as Sony Ericsson has released the first “PlayStation Phone” known as Xperia Play. Another great news is that PlayStation tablets are on the way.
    5. Valve
    • If you are enjoying Steam which is the original game platform directly distributing and managing more than 1,500 games to a community composed of over 30 million players all over the world on your PC, you will get to enjoy it too through your Android mobile as the president of Valve himself, Mr. Gabe Newell, revealed that Steam may head to Android soon.
    6. Alienware
    • The fact that Alienware’s parent company is Dell which is now a manufacturer of Android smartphones and tablets, it won’t be a shock of the company’s games would soon be on Dell’s Android devices.
Some say that gaming industries choose Android over Apple because Android does better than iOS. Whatever the reason is, what is important is the fact that Android users are the most that are benefited. This time, even games from these big players are highly anticipated.

Just recently, we found out that Android was able to overtake iPhone and Blackberry concerning the preferences of many. It seems that Android has done it again because a new study has again showed that the Android market has beaten iTunes with regards to the number of free applications being offered to the public.
We can’t deny that iTunes provides the highest number applications. This remains true at present but we really can’t be sure if iTunes will still retain the crown in the near future or will the Android market snatch it away.
The study revealed that Google’s Android market offers about 134,342 applications free of charge while Apple only provides about 120,00o+ free applications. Accordingly, the number of free applications went up to more than 125% since last August.  Further, it emphasized the sudden downfall of Blackberry as it was only able to garner the fourth place, beating only Nokia’s Ovi Store.
    android market
The Android Market and the iTunes App Store are two famous online portals to cater the shopping needs of their users to improve their mobiles. These two sources obviously have similar basic features such as the category choices like the top paid list, featured list and the general categories plus they both show ratings, reviews as well as screenshots.
However, it can’t be helped that users have to choose which among the two should be patronized. With the revelation that the Android Market now offers more free applications, Android lovers will surely be more than satisfied.
Again, Android has done it again. Because Android seems to keep improving as time goes by, Android users have again another reason to rejoice.

  • Google Docs – Android Also Has It Now

    google docs android
Using Google Docs as a means of maximizing productivity is indeed very helpful in many workplaces especially for those who are working together online. However, this means that you have to carry your laptop around so that you can access your documents when needed. Well, this won’t be the scene anymore because Google Docs is finally available on Android.
    PROS
With Google Docs, you can create, edit, upload as well as share your documents and even spreadsheets from your phone. Adding to these amazing features, as revealed in the Android Market, are the following:
    • Stripped version designed especially for Android in order to aid you in finding your docs
    • Allows edits to your documents and it will appear to your collaborators in just seconds
    • Allows the making changes in spreadsheets
    • Allows viewing of documents, PDFs, pictures, etc.
    • Allows photo taking of printed texts and conversion of such into a Google Doc
    • Allows sharing of docs to saved contacts
    • Simple in structure
    • Allows users to work on existing files
    CONS
For documents that got downloaded from Microsoft Office documents through Google Cloud Connect, they cannot be edited.  Cells with hyperlinks cannot be edited, documents cannot be deleted and cells cannot be formatted. These are among the things that Google has still to address. Also, if you need to work on something other than documents and spread sheets, like power point, then Google Doc may not be the right tool for you.
You may still find Google Docs lacking in some features as compared to the Google Docs that you use through your computer. But we might have to wait and see as changes might just be on its way. In the meantime, enjoy this tool as it is still great as it is.

  • Survey Declared Android as the Preference of Many

    Posted: Wed, 27 Apr 2011 15:49:01 +0000
More than two years ago, “HTC Dream”, the first ever phone running with Android operating system was officially released in the market. Then the “Nexus One” followed in 2010 by HTC in collaboration with Google and the “Nexus S” by Samsung. Since then, more and more beautifully designed and more improved Android devices came to life.
The release of Android did not create an impact in the market immediately but as time goes by, Android OS was able to surpass the US sales of its opponent, the iPhone platform. However, the mighty iPhone remained to be at the edge. But who would have thought that the taste of the many would change big time?
    Cr: blog.nielsen.com
Nielsen, whose business focuses on market research, usually conducts a monthly survey concerning the US smartphone market on which among the smartphones is most wanted. For the survey conducted last July to September 2010, 33% goes for Apple iPhone, 26% goes for Google Android Operating System while 13% prefer RIM Blackberry. However, changes have been seen during the survey for January to March 2011.The result just shows how the interests of people change in a short time.
The survey conducted for January to March 2011 has showed that 31% now rooted for Android as the operating system of their smartphones, 30% rooted for Apple’s iOS while RIM Blackberry’s share went down to 11%.
Another thing worth revealing is the fact that among the recent smartphone buyers, 50% have purchased Android phones while only 25% got iPhone. Further, Android also takes up a large 37% of the market.

    Android Market E-Book
If you think the Android Market is remarkable because it has all the applications and games you need, then you should rejoice more because the market has now opened a spot for e-books. Now, you can also purchase e-books through the Market.
Again, the rumor about Android E-book has been confirmed. Try opening the Android market and you will discover the newly-added Books tab. When you click it, the E-book interface will immediately load and you will be greeted by a large page consisting of various book images, information, as well as intuitive user controls.
To make it easier for browsers, the interface allows selection by category, top free, top selling, and new arrivals. You can also easily choose which book to purchase because every book page provides a short description of the same plus a quick review from the readers. If you prefer looking for the books of your favorite author, just search for that author and click on their name. In response, the market will show a list of their available books. Simple and easy, isn’t it?
Finally, if you are done with your purchase and download, the e-book will then be included in your Google account. In case you wish to retract what purchased, you will find a return option to help you out.
At the moment, the Books Tab seems to be available only to Honeycomb users. But this should not disappoint non-Honeycomb users because I’m pretty sure that in time, it will likewise be available in your Android market as well. So there’s still a reason to rejoice, don’t you think?

    Posted: Mon, 25 Apr 2011 17:16:27 +0000
TubeMateGoogle seems to have ways to make things possible that even watching videos is made possible through your Android device. But isn’t it annoying at times when you have to wait for the video to load before getting to watch its entirety? Well, this isn’t a problem anymore because loads of downloading applications have hit the Android market to allow you to download the video and get rid of buffering. The only thing that should concern you though is choosing the right app that can provide the quality you want.
The Android Market is filled with several video downloaders but only a few have been well-rated by users and among them is the TubeMate app.
Created by Devian Studio, the TubeMate app allows users to browse for their favorite videos and download them in an mp3 format fast and easy. Also, you can choose the resolution of your video downloads: 480 x 270 for general devices; 1280 x 720 (HD) for high-end devices; and 1920 x 1080 (Full-HD) for tablet devices.
Another interesting feature of this application is that it has its own player (powered by Meridian) which allows the user to create its own YouTube video playlists.
This application had some issues in the past as can be gleaned from the comments made by users in the market but with its updates, they have been fixed. What’s good about the developer of this app is the fact that in case of problems, the application undergoes some updates in order to improve its performance. This just shows that said developer gives weight to the problems encountered by its users.
Most of all, this application is absolutely free so it won’t hurt a thing if you give it a try.
